Portland Oregon earned the nickname “Soccer” City” back in the 1970′s during the heyday of the North American Soccer League (NASL). With the emergence of the Portland Timbers and their highly enthusiastic fan-base it’s fair to say that title is well earned again. Across the four quadrants of Portland their are dozens of bars showing matches. Of course the Timbers will always be on but you can also find Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and most of the other English Premier League matches in a given week. La Liga fans won’t find it hard to catch Barcelona, Real Madrid, Villareal and the other clubs across spain as well. Midweek Champions League and Europa League matches are usually easy to find since they don’t often compete with US sports for TV time.
